Cave Opposite Research Lab
TitleCave Opposite Research Lab
Creatorunknown
Date of Originalunknown
DescriptionBlack-and-white photograph of the entrance to a cave. Hand-written notes on the back identify it as "Cave opposite Research Lab. Cave at Fonda's basin mentioned in Hislop's account of canal trip east of Rexford." Folklore indicates that canallers were buried here. Fonda's Basin was near Lenrock estate. A dirt road still goes to the site the Riverview Landing now uses for boats. Stamped on the back is "Francis M. Spoonogle, Hill St., Alplaus, N.Y." This may be a copy of an older photograph.
